This is a new character I have been working on. My Idea is to create a high detailed mesh in Mudbox and then use some of the tools in 3ds Max to create a new lowpoly mesh then create a normal map for the lowpoly mesh. In the end I hope to have a good looking game model.

Donatello Sketch to Ink
I started with a really crappy sketch. My intent from the beginning was to concentrate on the inking of the piece. Which is why I didn't spend much time on the sketch. However, the sketch is probably the most import part as it sets you up for the rest of your image. The better the sketch the better the end result.
After the sketch I did the line work. Everything is flat as the lines are the same thickness throughout.
Once I had finished the line work I began to block in the shadows and add spots of pure black.
Not quite finished, but I began to add details muscle lines and enhance the shadows. I still need to do the shell and his left arm is not quite done. I was thinking about adding color but I have yet to decide. The more work I put into it the better it looks but it will only look as good as what I started with. The sketch is very important. I gotta keep that in mind for next time.

Game Environment
This is a new project I am working on in Maya. It is a video game model that I am going to be adding more detail to and then lighting and texturing. Once I am done with that I will be bringing it into UDK for testing ingame. Going for a very low poly mesh with high detailed textures which will mainly be created in Mudbox.

Here is a better version composited in Autodesk Composite that ships with Maya. I did some color correction and added the reflection of the earth in the eyes. I think I am liking the direction this is going in.

SSS shader in Maya
Testing the SSS Shader on my alien model. I will be creating three layers of textures for the sub-surface scatter. This is what it looks like with just solid colors for the SSS.

First post of 2012... Slacker!
I really slack when it comes to this whole blog thing. These are a few of the projects I am currently working on:
SimpDu:
I am working on modeling, texturing, rigging, and animating this character. So far I am done with the modeling. I have started laying out the UVs. Which are almost done. I have also started rigging the face. Depending on how much time I get I might have this done next month sometime.
Bluetooth Transformer:
I wanted to do an animation of a blue tooth ear piece transforming into a robot. So far I am working on the modeling. I modeled the Bluetooth Headset. I cut it into pieces that will be part of the robot. The transform is going to be faked. I will have the model of the blue tooth then an in-between of the pieces then bring in the rig. Not as cool as if the rig transformed but I think that it will look pretty freakin rad :)
These are my two bigger projects. Other than these two I have worked on a logo animation for a custom Freebord design company TioEmm. Which you can check out here http://vimeo.com/38512064 . It's one of my coworkers companies. He makes great decks! A few small projects here and there. I am currently awaiting information on a side job doing textures and such for a game.
