New version of the Pliskin Alien. I think it is getting close. No need for painted textures. I just made some in Maya. I might mess with the lighting a bit more and then do some finalized renders with AO pass.

Here is a better version composited in Autodesk Composite that ships with Maya. I did some color correction and added the reflection of the earth in the eyes. I think I am liking the direction this is going in.

SSS shader in Maya

Testing the SSS Shader on my alien model. I will be creating three layers of textures for the sub-surface scatter. This is what it looks like with just solid colors for the SSS.
